NAYB Girls Basketball Clinic

The purpose of the NAYB Girls Basketball Clinic is to help girls from North Attleboro in grades 4th thru 8th (based on grade in 2012-2013) become the best basketball players they can be. This will be achieved through instruction with an emphasis on developing player’s fundamental basketball skills, thru drills and game play.
Clinic Details:
Who: The sessions will be open to girls from grade 4 to grade 8, based on grade they are entering next year. During the sessions the girls will be placed in two groups, Group A - 4th/5th Grade and Group B - 6th/7th and 8th Grade.
What: The sessions will be structured in a manner with the first 75 minutes will be focused on drills to promote individual development. The last 45 minutes will be scrimmages.
Group A – Since these grades will face only Man to Man during the upcoming Metro season, there will be a special emphasis placed around this aspect of the game.
Group B – Since these grades will face Man to Man and Zone during the upcoming Metro season, both will be covered.
Sample Practice Plan
6:00 to 6:05 - Warm Up
6:05 to 6:30 – Team Drills
6:30 to 6:35 – Competitive Shooting Drill
6:35 to 7:05 – Stations
7:05 to 7:15 – Free Throws
7:15 to 7:20 – Competitive Shooting Drill
7:20 to 8:00 - Scrimmage
Where: The sessions will be held at the outdoor courts at the Middle School.
When: The sessions will be on Sunday nights from 5:00 to 7:00, starting on April 29th and running to July 1st.
Cost: There is a $15 cost per player to cover court time and equipment.
